스리랑카 국외연구자료 연구보고서 - Spring Nature 발간일 : 2021-05-23 등록일 : 2022-09-30 원문링크

This study examines the Sri Lanka’s trade relationship with Singapore after the liberalization of trade under the open economic policy regime implemented in Sri Lanka after year 1977 by employing quantitative approach. The annual time series data have been collected for this study from year 1980 to year 2018. The tool primarily employed to analyze the collected data so as to achieve the objective of this study is multiple regression model of gravity model. Value of Total Bilateral Trade occurred between Sri Lanka and Singapore (Tijt) is found as the dependent variable of multiple regression model of gravity model. Per capita GDP (US $) of Sri Lanka and Singapore, Trade-GDP ratio [openness (US $)] of Sri Lanka, Total bilateral trade-GDP ratio [openness (US $)] of country—Sri Lanka and Singapore, Inflation (GDP Deflator) of annual percentage of Sri Lanka and country—Singapore, nominal exchange rate of Sri Lanka and country—Singapore, and Index of economic freedom of country (i)—Sri Lanka and country(j)—Singapore are found as the independent variables of the gravity regression model employed in this study. SAFTA is a dummy variable representing SAARC bloc and takes the value of 1 if both trading partners (Sri Lanka and Singapore) are the members of SAARC and the value of 0 is used if otherwise. The free trade regime is able to change the regional trade of Sri Lanka with Singapore after the trade liberalization imposed in Sri Lanka.
