The project was to build Line 1-Phase B of the metro rail network in Jaipur, which would extend Line 1-Phase A. The project was also to support the preparation of a future development plan for Line 2. It was expected that the metro rail network, to which Line 1-Phase B would be an integral part, would provide enhanced mass rapid transit (MRT) capacity for the city’s major mobility corridors. It was to reverse the rising shift to private cars and achieve an improved public transport system in Jaipur.
This report validates the completion report's assessment of the project. IED overall assessment: Less than successful.
