In this study, I examine the actual growth path, the trends of other macro variables, policies affect actual growth path, and policies would help to raise growth in Bangladesh. First, data are analyzed from 1960 to 2012 using regression analysis of time series. The result suggests agriculture, employment, population growth, and last year’s GDP per capita significantly affect GDP per capita. In addition, I make caparison between Bangladesh with other south Asian countries. This result suggests Bangladesh’s performance is poor compared to its neighbors. Therefore, Government should devote considerable effort to improve performance, so that people might enjoy better standard of life .However, reason for poor performance is not clear in this study, which is left for future research.
