[정책] Strengthening Government Stewardship for a Diversified and Resilient Aged Care System in Vietnam - Technical Report and a Case Study of Two Localities : Quang Nam Province and Can Tho City

Vietnam is ranked in the group of countries with the fastest aging population in the world, even more than many developing countries. With the high rate of demand within the population, the pressure for developing the aged care system in Vietnam is significant. The World Bank’s Social Protection and Jobs team has been collaborating closely with the government of Vietnam (GOV) as the social protection system has evolved, with aged care as a key pillar of engagement. This technical report explores pathways for strengthening the stewardship function of the GOV in aged care. The target audience of this report comprises of technical experts from both central and local government agencies, members of the academia, as well as civil society representatives. The report covers policy development and implementation points for short-term responses and structural approaches needed for developing a diversified and resilient delivery system of services for the elderly in the medium term.
