The purpose of this research is to explore the psychological distress and discrimination experienced by refugees from Myanmar in Malaysia. A narrative inquiry approach and an in depth interview were chosen to get in touch with the social world of the refugees. Bronfenbrenner’s (1979) ecological theory was used to examine the psychological distress of the participants in their social context. The findings revealed the social, economical and psychological discrimination experienced by these refugees while waiting for the opportunity to be relocated to a new country.
