Founded in 1981, Gulf Cooperation Council consists of six Arab countries in the Middle-east region, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. GCC is a political-economic organization aiming at strengthening the regional security and economic cooperation. The price of consumption in GCC arises sharply due to the weakness of global dollar and the US subprime crisis. Social problems and diplomatic friction caused by the strike from foreign labors makes it difficult for maintaining the policy for currency and exchange rate. The International oil price drops dramatically on account of the low tide of global economy. US financial agencies expand their investment lost in part of the fund in Middle-east. Credit blockade exist as a result of the aftereffect of global-wide financial crisis. It is difficult for Korea to step into the Middle east region. However, investing and entering these countries in such a difficult time, in the long run, could also bring in opportunities to recapture the market which is preoccupied by advanced western countries. It is necessary to study the political, legal, social and cultural, and economical environment of GCC, and research on the risks and opportunities that our domestic enterprises may be confronted with when entering the market, so as to demonstrate the role of government in setting up the strategy for our domestic enterprises to invest and enter the market based on the core competence of our country.
