The purpose of this study was to examine the dependency and inequality in member states of Mercosur through case of small Paraguayan farmer and Brazilian soybean farmer. Paraguay has recorded high rate of economic growth since joining the Mercosur but has been a deepening social and economic inequality. The Paraguay's economy growth was due to a rise of the Brazilian soybean farmers(Brasiguayo). The expansion of the soy industry in Paraguay has occurred in tandem with the violent oppression of small farmers and indigenous communities. Small farmers have been evicted from their homes and fields. Paraguay has become a “playground” for Brazilian soybean farmers and that provides cheap labor for Argentina. In conclusion, poverty and inequality in Paraguay is related to the dependency in Mercosur's member states.
