Nowadays the environmental problem is the interest of all the academic fields and in the field of literature the ecocrticism gets popularity. The present thesis is that of the fusion program which connects human studies with environmental studies, more precisely, mythology with natural disaster prevention studies. Environment and culture are correlated, and also the myths, part of the culture, has similar relationships with the environment. The present thesis investigates relations between myth and environment, and analyzes how the natural disaster, one of the elements of the environment, affects the collective unconsciousness which is reservoir of human mind. The natural disaster, expressed as god's anger in the myths, is one of the elements that never lacks in them. In the case of Latin American creation myths, it is a very important motive because the cycle of creation and destruction repeats in them. For this reason, the present thesis analyzed how natural disasters in Latin America were depicted in the principal myths such as creation myths in Aztec, Maya and Inca civilization. Consequently, we can get to conclusion that the description of volcano's eruption is well shown in the fifth Sun's myth in the Aztecs, that Hurricane is depicted as the god of the highest position in the Popol Vuh of the Mayas and that the phenomenon El niño is strikingly described in the Inca principal creation myths.
