[경제] Climate-Smart Agriculture in Georgia

조지아 국외연구자료 연구보고서 - World Bank 발간일 : 2022-01-28 등록일 : 2022-02-09 원문링크

Climate-smart agriculture (CSA) is an approach aiming to transform and reorient agricultural systems, in a way to support the development and ensure food security in the face of climate change. The CSA approach can help to identify and address synergies and trade-offs involved in pursuing these three objectives by addressing the environmental, social, and economic dimensions of sustainable development across agricultural landscapes, ultimately ensuring food and nutrition security. This approach helps to align the needs and priorities of different stakeholders to achieve more resilient, equitable, and sustainable food systems. This also helps to align with the objectives of Georgia’s updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), since developing CSA supports the decarbonization and low-carbon development of the agriculture sector. Although the CSA concept is still evolving, many of the practices and technologies that make up CSA have been successfully implemented globally. Mainstreaming CSA in Georgia will require the systematic identification of locally effective CSA practices, diagnosis of barriers to adoption of those practices, evaluation of strategies to overcome the barriers, and ensuring the presence of institutional and financial enablers. This CSA Country Profile describes the risks posed by climate change to agriculture in Georgia, discusses the potential of CSA to attenuate those risks, identifies factors that can influence the adoption of CSA practices, and highlights potential entry points for investment in CSA at scale.
