The facility was formulated to carry on the work begun by the Public–Private Infrastructure Development Facility (PPIDF1) and the Second Public–Private Infrastructure Facility (PPIDF2) in addressing infrastructure deficiencies in Bangladesh. It aimed to promote commercial finance for PPP projects by providing long-term financing, thereby reducing the pressure of direct financing on the public budget. Furthermore, the facility was meant to assist the government in providing clean and affordable electricity to rural people and small to medium-sized enterprises through grid-connected or off-grid energy efficient and renewable energy solutions.
This report validates the completion report's assessment of the facility. IED overall assessment: Successful.
