Since the start of 2023, both headline and core inflation rates have experienced a rapid decline. After peaking at 18.0 percent and 14.7 percent (year-on-year) in September and October 2022, respectively, these rates have significantly decreased. The central bank responded to the acute inflation by tightening monetary policy, raising interest rates from 0.25 percent in June 2021 to 7 percent in June 2022, a level that has been maintained since.
