Abstract: This article proposes a revolutionary plan to transform street vending into a regulated and economically viable sector in Pakistan. Street vending, often marginalized and overlooked, holds immense potential as a driver of economic prosperity and upliftment for the poor. While cities like New York have embraced street vending through initiatives like the recent issuance of 4000 new permits, Pakistan continues to face challenges with the constant disturbance and displacement of street vendors by municipal authorities. The proposed plan outlines a roadmap for economic prosperity and poverty alleviation through various initiatives. These include the establishment of new kiosks and small shops, regularization and licensing of street vendors, public-private partnerships for funding, and access to bank loans. The plan aims to eliminate street vending chaos, beautify cities, stimulate economic growth, create job opportunities, document the local economy, generate revenue for the government, and contribute to socio-economic development. In Punjab, the largest province of Pakistan, implementing the proposed plan holds immense promise for economic revitalization and poverty alleviation. Key metropolitan cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Multan can serve as pilot areas for initiating model projects, demonstrating the viability and effectiveness of the plan before scaling it across the province. Once proven successful, the initiative can contribute to inclusive growth, urban beautification, and economic prosperity for all residents. In conclusion, the proposed plan to revolutionise street vending represents a trans formative opportunity to harness the potential of this informal sector for sustainable development and inclusive growth in Pakistan.
