방글라데시 국외연구자료 기타 Sanjiv Pandita (단독) 경상대학교 사회과학연구원 발간일 : 2017-02-26 등록일 : 2017-04-19 원문링크

Rana plaza collapse epitomizes the rot in the global supply chain production and how global capital continues to make profits from the most underprivileged, marginalised poor people. However, poor Bangladesh just three centuries ago was one of the leading specialised garment manufacturer of the world and one of the resource rich place in Asia. The paper examines the present statues of Bangladesh through three centuries colonial repression and present neo-liberal repression by being at the lowest tier of the global garment supply chain. Post Rana Plaza solutions have been more in line with reform rather than transforming the present repressive system and transformation has to come from below. Workers revolt is common at ground, they are fed up of repressive system, the challenge is how the power of workers at ground can be organised and channelled towards building grassroots democracy.
