ADB has been supporting the Government of Maldives since 1978. It has committed loans, grants, and technical assistance worth $315.4 million. ADB operations in Maldives are generally dedicated to increasing the population’s access to sustainable solid waste management services, enhancing the quality and reliability of power supply, improving transport networks, fostering private sector development, and boosting economic opportunities and growth.

ADB is also helping Maldives’ recently elected government formulate a new development strategy for the country.
