[경제] Publishing 2021 Census Tables Generated from Microdata Using Stata in mongoDB

The 2001 and 2011 censuses results were published in the form of a large number of MS-Excel files in India. These tables are available in the Census Digital Library. To be made accessible via API, the data they contain required a tedious process. For each table, the corresponding Excel files had to be merged and their content converted to a database (long) format and saved as a CSV file. This CSV file could then be uploaded into a mongoDB database which makes them accessible via an API. This process was implemented in R to ensure replicability.For the 2021 census, the process will be simple. ORGI will still produce and publish a large collection of Excel tables. But the CSV files to published in mongoDB can be generated directly from the microdata using Stata. A simple R script will then publish the CSV file in mongoDB, with the necessary metadata. This report provides a simple demonstration of the process.
