This restructuring extends the project extension date by six months from 31 December 2021 (original closing date) to 30 June 2022 (new closing date). The Third Punjab Education Sector Project (PESP-3) is currently in its fifth and final year of implementation and has disbursed 95% (US$ 285.1 million) of its total (US$ 300 million). There are three remaining Performance Based Condition (PBC) targets on PBC 3 (Girls' Stipend), PBC 4 (Early Childhood Education), PBC 7 (Student Assessment) and PBC 8 (Non-Salary Budgets) on which evidence is expected by the end of December 2021. Results under PBC 1 (Public-Private Partnerships), PBC 2 (Vouchers), PBC 5 (Teacher Recruitment and Management), PBC 6 (Teachers' Continuous Professional Development) and PBC 9 (Data Integration) have already been achieved and disbursement has been made in full. School participation targets have been met, except for boys, which have somewhat reduced school participation during the 10.5 months of school closures. The survey for the endline of the project is currently in the field and is expected to complete by 31 December, 2021.
