ADB’s CARES Program focuses on social protection for the poor and vulnerable. It supports economic rehabilitation, especially micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises to help accelerate the recovery of export-oriented manufacturing business and tourism.
Economic support under the CARES Program includes extending concessional lending to at least 10,000 affected MSMEs, at least 30% of which are women-led. Nepal’s Ministry of Finance made the funds available through Nepal Rastra Bank to lend to MSMEs.
