The Europe and Central Asia (ECA)Education Team's vision is for education systems toempower all to reach their full potential. In line with thisvision, the purpose of this guidance note is to providerecommendations and policy advice for decision-makers onpotential education responses to the COVID-19 crisis. Thenote includes measures for mitigating learning losses andpreparedness for school re-openings and/or a second wavebased on the following scenarios: (i) schools remain closeduntil the end of June and reopen in July allowing for thepossibility of summer school; and (ii) schools remain closedthrough the summer, reopening for the next school year butwith protracted disruptions.
