Most of Armenia’s Soviet-era power infrastructure is in poor condition, leading to blackouts and technical and financial losses for its energy sector.
Since 2005, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has played a key role in strengthening Armenia’s power sector — from generation to transmission to distribution.
Under its new plan, the government aims to maximize its domestic energy resources, replace aged power infrastructure, and diversify the country’s energy sources.
