[정책] A National School Infrastructure Policy for Iraq

아프리카ㆍ 중동 기타 국외연구자료 연구보고서 - World Bank 발간일 : 2023-11-08 등록일 : 2023-11-19 원문링크

School building projects in Iraq have been and continue to suffer from a significant shortfall in numbers in comparison to an increase in the numbers of students and the inequitable distribution according to local demographics. It is estimated that in total more than 10,000 new school buildings are required in Iraq by 2024. This signifies that a well-defined way forward needs to be adopted when planning locations of new schools and the designs of their buildings. The Development Infrastructure Policy for Iraq is a comprehensive national instrument providing guidelines for regulating school building construction activities across the country. It serves as a model policy for adoption by all agencies involved in construction of school buildings, be it the public works departments, other government construction departments, local bodies, or private construction agencies. The policy mainly contains administrative regulations, development control rules, and general building requirements; fire safety requirements; stipulations regarding materials, structural design, and construction including safety; and asset and facility operations and maintenance. These guidelines have been developed for physical planners, designers, and managers to assist in ensuring that minimum standards are achieved. The policy aims to support effective and efficient accommodation for high-quality education. It should be reviewed from time to time to ensure alignment with the new curriculum and policy, and building technology.
