[교통] Aricanduva BRT Corridor Safety and Accessibility Mapping - Project Report

브라질 국외연구자료 연구보고서 - World Bank 발간일 : 2023-05-03 등록일 : 2023-05-11 원문링크

This report focuses on understanding women’s safety and mobility related concerns in one low-income neighbourhood; Aricanduva in São Paulo. The main objective of the study was to map the proposed Aricanduva BRT corridor and its surrounding area using Safetipin applications. Data was collected to identify factors that have an impact on women’s perception of safety and experience in public transport. The study uses both quantitative as well as qualitative tools to identify factors that impact women’s everyday mobility. The safety mapping using Safetipin Nite app highlights existing gaps in city infrastructure lighting, sidewalks which instill fear and prevents women from using public spaces and public transport freely. The mapping also focuses on understanding how the social environment around the corridor impacts women’s mobility. The results from the study highlight that lack of gender friendly and inclusive city infrastructure and services are a barrier to women’s mobility and prevent them from accessing opportunities of growth and overall well-being. The report concludes with general recommendations to improve women’s safety and accessibility at and around/near the bus stops.
