[경제] Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) - Supporting the Development of an Efficient and Reliable Power Sector

The Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) Power Grid Improvement Project aims to provide a reliable and efficient power distribution network in the Xaythany district of Vientiane - the capital and largest city of Lao PDR. In 2014, the World Bank’s International Development Association (IDA) approved a 30 million dollars credit to improve the electricity supply infrastructure provided by the state-owned corporation Electricite du Laos. This replicable pilot project is expected to benefit nearly 300,000 people and reduce energy distribution losses to achieve a cumulative energy savings of 2.3 terawatt-hours by 2040.
