The project was to consist of support for expanding livestock waste management infrastructure through construction of about 36,000 small biogas plants (SBPs), 40 medium biogas plants (MBPs), and 10 large biogas plants (LBPs); training biogas plant operators, masons, technicians, engineers, contractors, and biogas associations to follow good biogas value chain (BVC) management practices; promoting the transition of BVC management from being government-led to being private sector-led; and supporting the government’s efforts to access existing and future markets for carbon credits. The project’s envisaged impact was less agriculture-related pollution. The expected outcome was greater uptake of CSAWM practices.
