Considering Romania’s national climate change strategy 2013-2020 and the 2016-2020 national action plan on climate change, the general urban plan of Brasov will focus on building a portfolio of ecosystem services for the Brasov city and the Brasov metropolitan area. In this context, the updated general urban plan will have to identify areas and sub-areas of focus for the future city development and to set out attractive urban indicators, concurrently with ensuring a sustainable development for the areas concerned. At the same time, clear solutions should be provided for as many special issues occurring in the city as possible. The ultimate purpose of updating the Brasov city general urban plan is to address derogatory urban planning. In order to increase the effectiveness of administrative activities, it is equally important that information technology (IT) resources be employed as widely as possible in the relations with both citizens and other public institutions.
