우즈베키스탄 국외연구자료 기타 A. Sait SÖNMEZ Journal of International Social Research 발간일 : 2013-01-01 등록일 : 2016-03-04 원문링크

The Central Asia region had been under Russian occupation for approximately 150 years. During this period, Tashkent was the center, where the Russia policies on Central Asian were executed. After the dissolution of Soviet Union, the Tashkent - Moscow relations developed from province-center status into equal status. But in the post cold war period, Russia having redefined its strategic interests in Central Asia, returned to the region. The importance of Uzbekistan for the Russia, wishing to extend its influence in the region, revived once more. However, since its post independence period, Uzbekistan has been giving priority to policies on gaining its independence, which firstly necessitates rescuing from Russian influence. Moreover, Uzbekistan has faced some security problems and it has had to cooperate with Russia to overcome these problems. In this paper, the relations between Uzbekistan, the most powerful country in Central Asia and Russia, the overwhelming power in Eurasia, are analysed.
