[경제] Poverty and Welfare Impacts of COVID-19 and Mitigation Policies in Georgia

This note summarizes the results of simulations of the poverty and welfare impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in Georgia, undertaken by the Poverty and Equity team of the World Bank (WB). First, the poverty and distributional effects are estimated using a microsimulation model of household income shocks. Next, selected mitigation measures implemented by the Government of Georgia (GoG) are simulated to assess their effectiveness to improve household welfare and to prevent impoverishment from the economic impacts of COVID-19. Lastly, simulations based on short- and medium-term macroeconomic projections are reported.
