The TA project built on ADB’s earlier support for building a more resilient financial system and strengthening financial regulatory regimes in Mongolia through policy recommendations and capacity development. It was approved to enhance capacity and public confidence in Mongolia’s financial sector by providing capacity building and policy recommendations to (i) strengthen the government’s financial stability framework, (ii) enhance the financial consumer protection framework, (iii) promote sound and sustainable development of savings and credit cooperatives (SCCs), (iv) identify an effective non-performing loan (NPL) resolution mechanism, and (v) improve the disaster risk insurance sector’s risk management capacity.
