[경제] Innovate Africa Symposium - Concept Note - 25-27 October 2023

In today's data-driven world, African countries - with their immense potential - stand to benefit enormously from leveraging data and innovative technologies for informed policy and decisionmaking toward sustainable development. Furthermore, it is imperative for African countries to actively participate in establishing the data technology global governance rules by which they should abide. The critical challenge, however, is the skills gap among countries. This challenge can only be properly addressed through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and partnerships within a supportive environment. Considering this context, the African Development Bank, through its Data Innovation Lab (DIL) activities, is collaborating with the University of Johannesburg to organize the Innovate Africa Symposium under the theme “Ideating Partnerships to enable data driven government agencies”. This Symposium provides a highlevel platform for government agencies, civil society, private sector enterprises, academic institutions, and international organizations to engage in meaningful dialogues, to share successful strategies and explore innovative collaboration models for creating a robust ecosystem for data innovation in Africa, fundamentally supported by skill development. The Symposium will be held at Johannesburg Business School Park, Johannesburg, South Africa from 25 to 27 October 2023.
