Individual labor market outcomes depend to a certain extent on the characteristics of individual workers. This paper uses the 2018/2019 Expenditure, Revenue, and Employment Survey (IDREA) to provide an analysis of the relationship between the characteristics of workers and labor market outcomes in Angola. Linear probability models are used to shed light on how individual characteristics are related to the probability of being unemployed, informally employed, or attending technical training and suggest that education, age, and gender play an important role in explaining labor market outcomes. In addition, the Mincer equation and Blinder-Oaxaca decomposition provide evidence on returns to education and possible gender wage bias in the Angolan labor market.
