[환경] Implementing Renewable Energy in Egypt: State of the Art Review, Challenges, and Opportunities

Over the past two decades, there has been an increase in the use of alternative energy sources, especially renewable energy (RE). Egypt has made significant and distinguished progress in renewable and sustainable energy sources. Considering Egypt's rising energy needs, it has become increasingly important to research and promote renewable energy sources. For these reasons, the authorities concerned with renewable energy and the government urge scientists to increase research and the general public to use and develop renewable energy as efficiently and effectively as possible. The objective of this study is to highlight the recent successes of Egypt in the field of renewable energy and clarify the obstacles in the field and the latest developments in renewable energy. A novelty of this article is that it provides an overview of the narrative literature on the history, current state, and initiatives implemented in Egypt's renewable energy sector. The paper provides information for researchers and clarifies limitations for policymakers, innovators, project developers, government agencies, investors, industries, stakeholders, and administrators. A series of recommendations will be provided to researchers working in the renewable energy field based on this review's results.
